Stephanie Copeland is Forman Law Firm’s Paralegal and has over 3 decades of experience in many areas of legal practice. The past 15 years she has worked in the litigation, mediation and arbitration fields in the securities industry, serving both investors and broker-dealers. She has handled cases before FINRA, U.S. District Courts, Bankruptcy Courts, SEC Investigations, Delaware Chancery Court and several State Court, including Florida, Texas, South Carolina and New York.
Stephanie is responsible for the organization of our cases, discovery logistics, review and organization of voluminous documents, and managing the deadlines to assist with the litigation process. She assists the attorneys in reviewing documents to identify key evidence to help litigation strategy. She drafts preliminary discovery requests and various pleadings for the attorney’s finalization which helps to keep costs down for the client. She has assisted numerous times in trial over her career, managing exhibits and witnesses, and offering another insight and feedback to the attorney whine in the trial process. Her attention to detail assists the firm in managing cases for the benefit of the client
Stephanie started working in the legal field when she was 17 years old, while still in high school. She continued to work for the same law firm through college in various positions, form receptionist to bookkeeper. After graduating from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in legal studies, she continued with the same firm as a Paralegal. Later, she worked for a very large firm in complex environmental litigation cases and white collar crime. After several years, her husband’s ministry led them to Charleston South Carolina, where she was involved in medical malpractice and Mesothelioma litigation. Ministry later brought them back to Corpus Christi and Houston, TX where she juggled family life with 3 small children, ministry and working as a bankruptcy paralegal. Later, Her husband’s minitry brought them to upstate New York where they spent 18 years raising their children. She began working for a firm specializing in securities and contract litigation and was involved in a securities litgation case that produced tens of thousands of pages of documents and resulted in a $27 million winning verdict for her firm’s client .
In 2018, Stephanie and her husband relocated back to Texas to help care for his aging father.
She continues to be an invaluable resource for the Forman Law Firm and its clients.
