Round Rock TX

Round Rock, Texas is a city located in Williamson County and is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation. In the last 5 years alone the city’s population has risen by almost 10%. The city administration is dedicated to maintaining the highest quality of lifestyle for its residents and has one of the highest rated school districts in the State of Texas. Combined property taxes and utility rates are among the lowest in the area as revenue and fees generated by the activities of the high-end companies that call Round Rock home provide the city with ample capital to support and expand services.

Round Rock is a place mentioned many times in history books and scientific studies.

Habitation in the area has been in place in the area for over 10,000 years. Ancient remains were discovered by accident during the pre-construction surveys for a new highway.

The 1800’s saw Native Americans pushed out as the westward expansion grew. Agriculture, especially cotton and cattle, became the major industries for the area and remain in place to some extent today. The route created for the passage of cattle from south Texas to Abilene, Kansas ran through Round Rock and was named the Chisholm Trail after its establisher, Jesse Chisholm.

In 1956, the building of Interstate Highway 35 (which runs from Laredo, TX on the Mexican Border to northern Minnesota) which had helped Round Rock develop into a major center of state-of-the-art industries (i.e. Dell Computer’s headquarters) and several major retail centers.

The growth in wealth generated in this region has been massive. Unfortunately, that growth also seems to attract bad actors who seek victims for their schemes and evil intentions. The Forman Law Firm, P.C. and its founder, Bryan T. Forman, are highly experienced in securities law and the arbitration and litigation process that are the pathway to potential recovery of funds lost to investment fraud or negligent management by an investment adviser.

Many folks do not realize they have been victims of securities fraud. The person they placed their trust and their hard-earned money with will simply say “That’s just how the markets work”. In reality, that broker or advisor may have misled you with false promises, or omitted information that might have raised questions in your mind whether to take their advice or not, each of which constitute violations of the Texas Securities Act. You can refer to the Practice Areas shown on this page or the FAQ’s page on this website to review different types of securities fraud.

One area of investing that seems to attract a lot of bad behavior by brokers or the issuers themselves are Oil and Gas deals. The false promises and omitted facts in this area loom large over many failed investments. Even the most experienced and successful investors can be deceived by the overpromised and underdelivered results after those investors believed what they were told, placing significant investment dollars only to see nothing in return. But once again there are potential remedies under the Texas Securities Act. The Act establishes that these deals are considered securities and are subject to the same standards of registration, prohibition of fraud, suitability requirements, and fair dealing as any stock or bond registered for sale in Texas.

Sometimes, investors will lose money unnecessarily, not through bad intentions, but negligence. An Investment Advisor has a fiduciary duty to put your best interests ahead of any other factor when investing your money. When you create your account, you should stipulate the levels of risk and volatility the advisor must maintain in the account. If the Advisor fails to adhere to your written instructions and you lose money they have breached their fiduciary duties, and they should be held liable for losses and damages.

If you are managing your own funds and you give your broker instructions to buy or sell an investment and he or she fails to promptly enter the order or makes an error on the order that costs you money, they have also violated securities regulations. In most states it would be deemed a violation of the broker’s fiduciary duties that exist from the point at which you place the order until the time it is executed correctly.

Anyone can be a victim of fraudulent statements or a failure to disclose material facts. If you feel you have been a victim of investment fraud, a breach of your fiduciary’s duties, or just negligent advice, please contact our office at 512-306-8188 or complete our website’s contact form for a free, confidential review of your situation.
